European Tour Prospectus

Cal Poly Wind Bands travelled to Europe on an eleven-day itinerary in July 2026. This tour is scheduled for summer to avoid conflicts with the regular academic term and maximize participation of band students from every college. The band performed four concerts across three countries: Czech Republic, Ausria, and Germany. Live music is a gift that is appreciated around the world. It is also the ticket that provides unique access to other nations and cultures.

International travel offers a window to perspectives, ideas, and history that is made real only by being there.

The itinerary included overnight stays three cities, with performances at each location.

  • Prague
  • Vienna
  • Garmisch-Partenkirchen (concert also in Munich)

On behalf of the students and faculty of the Cal Poly Bands, we express our appreciation to the College of Liberal Arts and Cal Poly Instructionally Related Activities program for their support and to the Cal Poly faculty who provided exam accommodations that made it possible for our students to travel!
