The Cal Poly Bands take to the stage with an energetic start to a season of concerts by some of Cal Poly's immensely talented musicians.
The powerful Pride of the Pacific Mustang Marching Band will make an appearance and fill the hall with highlights from the season of Cal Poly Athletics.

Wind Orchestra and Wind Ensemble
Sunday, March 9 - 3:00 p.m., Performing Arts Center
Cal Poly Bands explore the vastness of subconscious and of reality through musical works. A featured work on the program is Daniel Bukvich’s “In Memoriam – Dresden 1945.” The Wind Orchestra Chamber Musicians will perform a new work by Peter Meechan, “James Webb’s Pillars,” inspired by NASA’s photography of an interstellar stellar nursery called “The Pillars of Creation.”

The Wind Orchestra and Wind Ensemble present a program that celebrates the art and craft of architecture, a discipline many of the bands’ students pursue at Cal Poly. The program will feature Cal Poly faculty Dr. Sarra Hey-Folick in a rousing work for clarinet and wind ensemble.
