Fall Concert
Bandfest: Over Sky and Sea!
Cal Poly Wind Orchestra, Wind Ensemble and Mustang Marching Band
Friday, November 21 - 7:30 p.m., Performing Arts Center
The Cal Poly Bands launch upon a season's tour of harmony and melody from around the world. The music of Cuba, the British Isles, and Bohemia will resound in Miossi Hall. The program will include Andrés Álvarez's Fortaleza, Gustav Holst's Second Suite in F, Josef Hellmesberger's Danse Diabolique, and Jaromir Weinberger's Polka and Fugue from Schwanda the Bagpiper.
The powerful Pride of the Pacific Mustang Marching Band will make an appearance and fill the hall with highlights from the season of Cal Poly Athletics.
WINTER CONCERT
Band Festival: Musical Journey Around the World
Wind Orchestra and Wind Ensemble
Friday, March 13 - 7:30 p.m., Performing Arts Center
The Cal Poly Wind Orchestra and Wind Ensemble bring an exciting conclusion to the Band and Orchestra Festival as they continue their musical travels across the globe. Japan, Spain, and Czechia will be our stops along this program. Included on the program will be Dennis Llinás's La Chancla, Bin Kaneda’s Japanese Folk Song Suite and Gasper Cassadó’s Toccata. Karel Husa’s monumental work Music for Prague 1968 will conclude the program.

Journey Home
Cal Poly Wind Orchestra and Wind Ensemble
Sunday, May 31 - 3:00 p.m., Performing Arts Center
The Wind Orchestra and Wind Ensemble conclude their season’s journey with a program of music by composers from here at home. The sonic landscapes of Travis Cross and Robert Russell Bennett have been student and audience favorites. The program will introduce a new work by Laura Kramer to honor the career of Cal Poly Director of Bands Emeritus William Johnson. The Wind Ensemble will conclude with John Mackey’s expansive tour-de-force Wine-Dark Sea.
